Obituary Irrfan Khan and Rishi Kapoor

We have had several bad news in last 2 days. Seems  Irrfan Khan was first to depart yesterday and today Rishi Kapoor also left for his heavenly abode. Both were fighting against cancer. They were such excellent actors and performers

Though Rishi Kapoor appeared as little kid in one of the songs of  Raj Kapoor's  Movie Sri 420 alongwith Shashi Kapoor and Randhir kapoor,  his first  appearance as an actor was  in the 1970 film Mera Nam Joker a film by Raj Kapoor which was a long film with 2 intervals. The film had 3 clear parts and in the first part Rishi Kapoor plays the role of a teenager who had crush over his class teacher played by Simi ji. In his very first film He won National best child actor award. He was a trade mark "Kapoor" blue eyed chockletti boy in this film and played his role well. It is tough to prove your self in Bollywood if you are son of a illustrious father but Rishi ji did it.  

In 1973 he did his first film as hero. Bobby a teenage romance opposite debutante Dimple Kapadia. His acting was very mature one and had such good on screen chemistry. The film was a hit and Rishi ji also won film fare award for best actor. After Bobby he appeared in many successful or not so successful films but his acting got better by the day. His was a good dancer and he proved this in the film Karz. His notable films in addition to above which at the moment I can recollect having watched are (not any particular order) Amar akbar Anthony, Karz,  Chandini, Prem Rog, Laila Majnu, Khel Khel me, Sargam, Henna, Bol Radha Bol and recently 102 not out. He was always youthful in all the films (except in the 102 not out). At 67 It was too early for him to go but he will remain in the hearts of millions of his fans. May his soul rest in peace and may  God give strength to bereaved family.  

I started appreciating Irrfan khan after watching his award winning film Pan Singh Tomar and then started following his films. He was a great actor and will  be remembered for his natural acting. in many films. Now he can be also noticed in some old DD TV serials such as Chanakya. Understand he also acted in the serial Chandrakanta. Clearly he had struggled quite a bit to reach the stature he commands today. His notable films which I have watched are (not any particular order) Piku, Lunchbox, Maqbool,  Life of PI, Slumdog Millionaire and Hindi Medium.  I am still to watch his last film English Medium. 

At 53 It was too early for him to die and it is a big loss to Cinema in Bollywood as well as Hollywood.   May his soul rest in peace and may  God give strength to bereaved family.
