I was surprised to note that the train I took from Hatia to Manmad was a Humsafar Exp rake so well advertisised by Government and Railways. It is a train with all 3AC coaches like a Garib Rath but with promised much improved features. Though due to its higher fare about 130% and flexi fare the train is empty with 800 seats available on date. I will like to rate the features as below:
Humsafar Express

Hatia - Pune SPL Exp (Humsafar rake)
Promised features with Actual as in train leaving Hatia on 31 Oct 2018 Coach B1
1) LED Screen display are fitted to provide the passengers with information about the stations, train speed etc.,it also has announcement system as well.
Actual : Display provided only displayed " Welcome to Indian Railways" Nothing else.
2) VENDING MACHINES : are kept for tea, coffee and milk.
ACTUAL : Not at all provided.
3) Charging ports for charging electronic devices such as mobiles, laptops etc.
ACTUAL : 4 ports in place of 2 in earlier coaches provided
3) More comfortable berths than the previous 3-tier AC sleeper rakes.
ACTUAL: OK Provided.
4):Each Compartments has BIO TOILETS fitted in for proper disposal of human waste.
ACTUAL : This feature are in earlier coaches too, however additionally urinal provided. Toilet paper stands removed
5) The exterior of coaches has a futuristic look with the use of Vinyl sheets.
ACTUAL : OK
6) Safety measures, in compartments such as introduction of smoke alarms and CCTV cameras are done.
ACTUAL: Could not be verified.
7) Heating chamber and refrigerating box are fitted in each coach to preserve the food that was brought from home by the passengers.
ACTUAL : Similar to those provided in Rajdhani and Shatabdi Coaches for caterer's use. Can't be used by passengers without operator.
8) Each and every coupe and side berth has curtains to maintain privacy.Khadi bed rolls were provided.
ACTUAL : Not at all provided.
9) Waste bin is provided in each coupe
ACTUAL: Provided but no arrangement to empty the same during travel.
We had nice experience since the train was empty. However these long haul train with stoppages 3 hr apart a pantry car is highly needed and desirable even if the train is weekly in its frequency.
